This "system" is totally archaic and heinous at every level... So, I have to beg for care, pay for medications which I should be able to get at a civilian pharmacy as a retiree for much less than the VA charges those of us under 30% SC, and incidentally basically have to ask for MONTHS to ...

PTSD Question in regards to IU

I just returned from a visit to the VA Hospital in Johnson City TN for a follow-up for my PTSD diagnosis. Upon talking to the Dr who is the head of the Dept, I am referenced in the medical chart as "severe" for PTSD and she also put that I am unemployable due to this condition. Subsequentl...

My VA File Claim is labeled "sensitive"...??

I just called the bullshit 1-800 to find out what, if anything, is going on with my VA disability case...the woman I spoke to said my case was labeled "sensitive" and that she didn't have access to my file as it was above her level of viewing. What does this mean? Sensitive?? I'm just real...

VA Disablitly rant and rave...I'm beyond pissed!!

Why is it so damn difficult, time consuming, expensive, and humiliating to deal with the VA to receive benefits which we've earned through our service to our Country?? When on Active Duty, I was always told "the VA will take care of you" after you get out, retire, whatever. That is the big...

In ignorance, I did not know of this legislation being passed.

Thanks for the heads up...I realize I'm late to the game in this...but very appropriate to all veteran's and retiree's.

Proposed FY-10 budget and Veteran issues

I was reading the proposed FY-10 budget, and reading the parts about Veteran's and the VA specifically. One that intrigues me is the one that will finally allow retiree's like myself the full benefit of concurrent receipt. We're in a strange "no mans land" regarding benefits...up till now,...

My Grandfather was a past Post Commander of the Old Town, ME chapter of the VFW, and was active in the politics of it in the aftermath of WWII which he served in Germany. Myself, and this is not to say that all VFW posts are like this, but I have NOT had a good initiation with the VFW. When the VA w...
