NEW VA LETTER - MAILED TO ALL- 2009

Postby perfumeriver » Sat Feb 28, 2009 9:39 am

This letter may be regional.

But this letter went out to all disabled veterans in my state.

"This letter is a summary of benefits you currently receive from the Department of Veterans Affairs . . . . "

This is a one page letter. With sub headings.
Personal Claim Information
Military Information
VA Benefits Information

With one line questons AND answers provided by VA.

Anyone else get this letter?

Mine has incorrect information and now I have to go to the state Dept. Veterans Affairs and have it corrected.

I'd like to know if the form letter is national and all disabled veterans are getting this letter.

Note: I have many previous letters stating what my disability is and the percentages. I would travel to the state VA and ask for such a letter. Each time, the information was correct but the wording was always slightly different. I have many of these letters. This is the first form letter sent out to ALL disabled veterans in my state.

This is the first form letter sent out and it contains incorrect information.

I was wondering if this letter is nationwide and if others have found inaccuracies.

I stopped into the local NSO office and asked.

Seems that this letter went out to all as a 'service' to veterans. Not a local letter.

Went to my one and only federal building. Told that this letter can only be corrected by calling a VA 800 number. Local VA cannot change the inaccuracies in letter.

Local NSO agent stated that about 50% of letters had inaccuracies. And not to worry about it.

Is this another way the VA is 'wasting' money?

Another costly service to the 1.4 million disabled veterans in US?

Something for employees to do in Washington?
