40 Years and 3 Tragedies

Postby gmg » Thu Feb 01, 2007 7:34 pm

I had a hard time deciding when to post this. Should I have posted it on the 27th to honor the 3 astronauts of Apollo 1? Then what about the 7 of the Challenger crew that gave their lives 19 years later? Or the 7 souls that “slipped the bonds” of earthly existence 17 years after the Challenger accident and 36 years after their predecessors in the Apollo accident?

I finally decided on February 2nd, where-I-am-now time.

I posted the official NASA portraits, crewmembers’ names, a link for each to a NASA site, and one for each from the BBC archives.

Of course, there is a lot more information and images available.

Oh yes, there may be those that feel this shouldn't be listed under fallen warriors, but I would respectfully disagree.

Freedom isn't free!
